1. A 52 ye
ar man recently diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas has a Whole Life policy with a guaranteed death benefit of £120,000. The policy has no surrender value and the premium is £33.93 per month. After obtaining written medical information from the man’s doctor and oncologist, we were able to sell this policy at auction for £103,000.
2. A 52 year old lady diagnosed with breast cancer has an endowment policy with a minimum death benefit of £30,000 and a surrender value of £9,300. The premium is £45.80 per month. After obtaining written medical evidence from the lady’s doctors, we sold this policy at auction for £24,250.
3. A 46 year old man with Motor Neurone Disease has a Whole Life policy with a minimum death benefit of £172,500 and a surrender value of £51,350. The premium is £963 per annum. After obtaining written medical evidence from the man’s doctors, we sold this policy at auction for £174,500. This exceeds the death benefit as the purchaser has taken the terminal bonus into account.
